My head is swimming right now. I've got a million and one things on my mind. We're in the process of hiring a new nanny and I have to fill in a ton of paperwork -- not my favourite thing to do. I'm also fretting about introducing the kids to the new caregiver. We haven't even told them that G. is leaving us soon. Thankfully, she's agreed to phase in the new nanny - her friend. I'm hoping this will help.
What else? We are heading to a rented cottage soon and I've got to figure out what to bring, get the directions, ask a neighbour to feed our cat, figure out where to meet our friends, BUY MOSQUITO REPELLENT, etc., etc. And, my son's starting a new school in the fall and I hear through the grapevine that parents are supposed to receive a list of "required school supplies." Have we received it? No. Gotta call the school. It's also Kash's 5th birthday in early September. I can't believe my baby's going to five. But, birthdays = birthday parties around here so that's another thing to add to my list. I've booked the bowling alley for the party but must send out those Spiderman invitations ASAP. Oy!
Let's see...I'm also thinking that I want to buy one of those emergency preparedness kits that the government's been advertising. You know the ones containing bottles of water, canned food, a crank-up radio, blankets, etc? I feel like a bad mother: what if there's a tornado and we lose elecricity for days and mommy didn't buy those kits when she should have?! Ack! I just hope, if there is an emergency situation, that my husband's around - he's a regular MacGyver. If not, we'll have to get REALLY creative.
Now, quick...let me get to that list!

Yikes!
We're leaving at 7 am tomorrow for our rented cottage. I've only seen it on-line so I have my fingers crossed that it'll be nice. I KNOW I've forgotten stuff, I just hope that they'll be a store close....
Good luck with the new nanny. It'll be fine, one day you'll be wondering why you were ever worried. :)
I haven't got an emergency kit either. Unless you count a full wine cellar. Water? Who needs that when one has wine?
Have a great trip and good luck getting it all done!
Oh, and you usually have a few days after school starts to get the supplies in, don't sweat that one too much as the list of what the kids need will change on the first day too depending on the teacher. Just to keep us Mamas on our toes!!

Don't you find, though, that simply writing all this down, albeit on a blog, helps with the mind clutter, though? I know I do.
